About Goffe & Laing Properties

In the 1960's, two determined, witty and adventurous women migrated from Spanish Town and St. Mary Jamaica, WI to Los Angeles and New York City. Ruby Mae Goffe and Delores Laing had a similar dream, move to the "states" in search of opportunities to provide a better life for their children. Little did they know the significant impact they would make!

Ms. Goffe spent 37 years working for Department of Water and Power Los Angeles. During those years she purchased a rental property along the way; helping to bring her son to LA and inspiring several family members to migrated to the United States, Canada and England. Mrs. Laing worked for the Bell Atlantic Company - now Verizon - for 32 years, commuting from Brooklyn to Manhattan daily. Eventually she was financially able to "send" for her two daughters, her mother Sylvia Thomas and other family over the next three decades.

These women are the pioneers of our family. They taught us perseverance, hard work and to care for others. Showing us how to build for the next generation, believe in ourselves, have faith in God and never forget where we came from! Goffe & Laing Properties is a part their Legacy.
